Come celebrate the 26th anniversary of the Triangle’s first universally designed, accessible and inclusive playground!
Meet at the picnic shelter at 2:00 PM to craft a party crown, march with KATAL the KT dragon mascot, have refreshments, hear the Kids Together origin story, and more!

We Love Books Day (Free!)

​We love books, and you do, too! Join us as we celebrate books! We’ll have stories throughout the playground and a make-your-own bookmark station. Bring a book or two for the book swap, or donate them to our Little Free Library!

OCTOBER

2026 Walk, Run & Roll for Inclusive Play

Celebrate every child’s right to be included in play! Walk, run, or bring your wheels (wheelchairs, strollers, skates, scooters, bikes – whatever!) and join in the fun!

Be there at 10:00 AM for games and vendor booths. At 10:30, KATAL the KT Dragon mascot will lead us to the starting line – ready, set, go!

The 1-mile round trip route takes you across the US 64 pedestrian bridge to the water station. Take a drink, get a sticker, then turn around and join us at the finish line for entertainment, refreshments, and raffles!

Costumes encouraged!

Proceeds go toward future improvements at Kids Together Playground.

NOVEMBER

Fall Foliage Stroll (Free!)

Explore the many plants that make Kids Together Playground so special. Gather natural materials from the playground, then use them to decorate a fall wreath to take home! Refreshments, too - and it’s all free!

Cocoa with KATAL the Dragon (Free!)

What’s better than cozying up with a free cup of hot chocolate on a winter's day? Sharing it with a dragon friend! 

Pose for a photo with KATAL, the Kids Together dragon mascot, then line up for a cup of hot chocolate. Add your favorite mix-ins and enjoy! (We’ll have a non-dairy version, too.)

Safety Day (Free!)

Check out the cool vehicles and meet the awesome people who work to keep us safe every day!

​Look for the Cary Fire Department firetruck and the Cary Police car. CAP (Citizens Assisting Police) will be there too offering Kid ID kits.

Painted Rock Hunt (Free!)

One-of-a-kind rocks will be hidden all over the playground for you to find and decide if you want to keep it, trade it, or hide it again for someone else.

Another accessible, inclusive, and FREE event presented by Kids Together! One rock per person, please.
This year's rocks were hand-painted by the Cary community at Kids Together's rock painting station at the 2026 Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival.

Whether it's the rock you painted or somebody else's, come find one special, lovingly decorated rock at the (free!) Painted Rock Hunt at Kids Together Playground on Sunday, May 17 from 2 – 4 PM.​

RENT THE PICNIC SHELTER FOR YOUR NEXT PARTY

The perfect spot to celebrate a birthday or to enjoy a picnic lunch while playing with friends. On-site bathrooms include an adult-sized changing table.
Picnic shelter reservations are made through the Town of Cary.
